The patch notes have these two relevant points: Added an OS-controlled fan curve to improve the experience in low usage scenarios, and adjusting how the fan responds to different scenarios and temperatures. Looked at temperatures and there were over 80°C and quickly reached over 90°C. My steam deck is overheating now and steam support is not helping. I've been really annoyed with my Steam Deck since getting it, due to the obnoxious, whiny fan. The updated fan curve has the fan spin a lot less and a lot slower which helps a ton, only if you are really stressing the Deck and the fan spins up to like 5000rpm, then it turns into a dog whistle again. • 23 days ago.
